Welcome back home. After being waived by the Bucks just a few weeks ago, Damian Lillard is back where he belongs, in Portland for the foreseeable future.

Just a few years after being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, Damian Lillard has now signed a new three-year, 40 million dollar contract to return to where it all began for him. The Portland Trail Blazers.

Lillard spent his first 11 seasons with Portland, where he cemented himself as the greatest Blazer of all time, as he holds many different franchise records. The Blazers' record for 3-pointers (2,387) and points (19,376), the only player in Trail Blazers history to ever score 70 points or more in a game, and he even scored 60 points or more points in five Portland contests, something that had never been done until Dame did it.

The fans loved him, and he loved the city. Now he has the chance to give the city of Portland an NBA championship.

Although Portland might not be getting the All-NBA Damian Lillard due to him tearing his left Achilles tendon during a first-round NBA playoff series against the Indiana Pacers last season, he will no doubt give everything he's got and more to win a title.

He still, after all, is Damian Lillard, one of the best point guards in the whole NBA, and will still torch your favourite team and then simply wave you goodbye as he walks off the court.

To make the return to Portland that much better, this Portland team might be one of the best teams he’s ever had.

They have young guards such as Scoot Henderson and Shaedon Sharpe, who have shown that they are ready for the next jump in their careers. Standout rookie Toumani Camara showed his great defensive skills and will only get better in his sophomore season. Deni Avdija was a most improved player candidate last season, Jrue Holiday is a defensive monster, and the new seven-foot rookie Yang Hansen looks like one of the steals of this year’s draft.

This team, now with Dame, has the perfect mix of offence and defence. Youth and experience. There hasn't been a better time for Damian to finally win his first NBA title. Giving NBA fans across the world a storybook ending to one of the greatest players to ever touch a basketball.
