Sambachella: Mall Grab at Auckland Town Hall
Mall Grab lit up Auckland Town Hall on Friday night with a euphoric, high-energy set. Immaculate vibes, sharp production. How good.

Mall Grab’s recent set at Auckland Town Hall proved why he remains one of the most exciting names in electronic music right now. From start to finish, the night delivered an exceptional atmosphere — energetic, joyful, and impressively well-paced.
The opening acts set the tone beautifully. Both DJs brought serious talent, but EMILIE stood out with a commanding presence behind the decks and a set that effortlessly built momentum. Her curation and energy perfectly primed the crowd for what was to come.
A key highlight of the night was the venue itself. Auckland Town Hall proved the perfect setting. The production team took full advantage of the space. Lighting was sharp, atmospheric, and visually striking without being overwhelming. The stage design was equally considered, Mall Grab being on the stage was very different for a gig but gave it a very boiler room esque feel. It was a great reminder of how much thoughtful production contributes to the live music experience.
Mall Grab delivered exactly what we hoped for: high-energy transitions, seamless pacing, and a powerful mix of underground grooves and crowd favourites. The final segment of his set was euphoric, the crowd pleasers came out and it truly was such fun. Perfect end to a lovely night.
A light-hearted observation: if every man in Sambas had been kicked out, genuinely only about six might have remained.
The boogie was serious, the vibes were on. 10/10-no notes.
